The Bishop of Kumba
Chief shepherd and teacher of the faith, successor of the Apostles for the local Church of Kumba.
Chief Shepherd
Most Rev. Agapitus Enuyehnyoh Nfon
First Bishop of Kumba
On 15 March 2016, His Holiness Pope Francis appointed the Most Reverend Agapitus Enuyehnyoh Nfon as the first Bishop of the newly erected Diocese of Kumba. Until that day he had served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, and he brought to Kumba a heart already devoted to the service of God's people in Cameroon.
As Bishop, he is the principal celebrant of the Sacred Liturgy, the chief teacher of the faith, and the shepherd charged with the unity and mission of the diocese. From his seat at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, he ordains priests and deacons, confirms the faithful, consecrates the holy oils, and visits the parishes and pastoral zones of the region.

A pastoral letter
Message to the diocesan family
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a joy to greet every family, every parish and every pastoral zone of our young diocese. Though we are still small among the Churches of Cameroon, the Lord has planted us for a purpose: to make known, in this corner of the Southwest, the boundless love of his Sacred Heart.
We have walked through seasons of difficulty, yet the Heart of Christ — pierced, yet ever open — teaches us not to lose hope. Let us be a people of reconciliation, of hard work and of deep prayer. Support your parish, encourage vocations, care for the poor and the stranger, and raise your children in the faith.
I entrust each of you to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to the patronage of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Know that you are remembered daily at the altar.
« That all may know the Heart of Christ. »
✝ Most Rev. Agapitus Enuyehnyoh Nfon
Bishop of Kumba
